Tamales for a Mexican Dinner

TAMALES with CHILI PORK
Corn husks and banana leaves are the common wrappers for tamales.
I used fig leaves which I have in abundance and which seemed to work pretty well. I also used parchment paper for some tamales to freeze.

I have so many fig leaves I was just thinking why can't they work for tamal? I never heard of anyone using fig leaves for them. I looked it up and ran into your blog. I am going to try it. Thanks for the inspiration!
