Last Saturday I bought new chickens in Norco from Celeste who runs the "Ham and Eggs Ranch". She is the sole caretaker of hundreds of birds, every type of poultry. I got 6 months old Production Chickens which are a cross of Rhode Island Reds, New Hamphire and Leghorns. Right now they are in a seperate area of the coop and tomorrow I will let them join in the fun with the old chickens as seen in video below. Notice the 13 year old Wyandotte in the middle ,still very pretty ,a bit arthritic and I think can not hear too well. According to Celeste chickens can live to be 16 years old.Tuesday, January 26, 2010
